Just call me the bag lady…

The other day, Wesley handed me a plastic Wal-Mart bag from his backpack, and said, “I told my class that you need lots of bags.”  This morning, I found SIX plastic Wal-Mart bags in his backpack. Lovely.

Since the day we first put those boys in school (Wesley in particular) I’ve waited not-so-anxiously for the first bit of misinformation given by my kid to his teacher. Or the first piece of private family info that gets relayed to the whole class.

We used to hear some great ones from Ginny when she was teaching Kindergarten. Here’s my favorite: The class was asked to draw a picture of themselves doing one of their favorite activities. When Ginny got to one little boy and asked him to describe his picture, he said, “This is me and my brother quietly playing video games while my mom and dad go have a picnic upstairs.”

I’ll take an overabundance of plastic bags any day….
