The end is close at hand.

Not just the end of camp (10 hours from now) – but the end of our time with Shaun, Wendy and Lily as “next-door” neighbors. It’s easier to be the leaver than the left. And it’s tempting to not attach ourselves to the people who enter our lives intensely for a short time. But I refuse.

It’s been a good year. And I’m so glad that it stretched into a year and 3 months.

That’s all I have to say. Because…. 5-hour nights promise 19 hour days, right? And three in a row is my personal limit.

About ruthie.voth

Wife of one, mother of four, friend of many. Lover of details, color, good conversations, finding balance, and being honest. Passionate lover of a well-crafted sentence - even more so if it's witty. Weird blend of cynical optimist. I'm the worst kind of woman. I'm high maintenance, but I think I'm low maintenance. Somehow, people still love me. Must be grace.

It has been a very good year and three months – mostly because you were my next door neighbor, Walmart companion and friend. Thank you for letting us into your life this year.
Now its your turn to move – I’m thinking you guys would love Hickory, NC! : )

  2. Andrew says:

    Farewell, Bethel Camp.
