Today, I…

…read 10 chapters of Revelation

…beat Roger to building up the fire first thing this morning so the kids could wake up in a toasty house

…took my weekly grocery run to Wal-Mart and then to the library (I love Mondays for this. It’s usually just wal-mart and the library, but I love that Roger keeps Avery -most weeks- and I have that 30 minutes there and back again… alone with my thoughts and my music and the coal trucks. Those are the times that I think about all the things I should blog about. And those are the things that I never do blog about.)

…managed to check out books that the boys actually dived/dove (pick your favorite) for when they got home from school

…fed Roger and Avery an amazing lunch of sausage.chickpea.kale soup

…mixed up a batch of fruit and nut Christmas cookies with Avery (without losing my patience with my little cook’s helper)

…painted the walls of the attic playroom (2 orange, 2 green)

…cut up and cooked lots of apples. they turned into really yummy applesauce

…fed my family supper… and I really do not remember what we ate. I really, really don’t. But my sweet husband cleaned up afterwards. wasn’t that nice of him?

…unintentionally conned Malin at supper. Avery suggested that we all hold hands when we prayed, so we all did – except for Malin who sat there with her eyes closed and her hands piously and rebelliously folded in front of her. Instead of commanding her to follow the crowd, I said, “Ooh, I get to hold Daddy’s hand!” and I reached across her…. It was funny how she was suddenly SO happy for the chance to hold both of our hands.

…baked 2 pies – pumpkin and lemon meringue (with fresh whipped cream and real meringue)

…took apart my bathtub drain *using manly tools and a flashlight* to try to unclog it … (that was unsuccessful – Roger just did the truly manly task of going under the house to really take care of the problem) He just said, “It was surprisingly easy to fix that.” Except…. something broke when he put it back together. hahahahahaha – that is the way our lives seem to go. 🙂

…started 2 loads of laundry that didn’t get completely finished

…washed many, many dishes. or did I wash the same dishes many, many times……

…sneezed more head cold sneezes than I care to count

I’m willing to bet that tomorrow will be a very unproductive day.

*****aha. we had spaghetti, broccoli and applesauce for supper.

I just wanted to say I read this almost immediately after you read it. I love productive days like that though.

Boy you were productive yesterday! I don’t think I’ll bother recounting my day – it just can’t compare.

Notice that I didn’t blog about my weekend. It involved even more boring things…. like sleeping and reading James Frey and being irritable and moody and tired… Could it be that that 6am cup of coffee on Monday morning started my week off right? hmm…
