with great rejoicing

I was awakened this morning by the sounds of Malin in her room, waking up her little sister, “Avery, Daddy’s coming home today! Daddy’s coming home today!!”

Then she crawled into bed with me and told me too: “Daddy’s coming home!”

We’ve missed him this week.

I think the animals will all be glad to see him too. It’s survival of the fittest when I’m in charge around here.

About ruthie.voth

Wife of one, mother of four, friend of many. Lover of details, color, good conversations, finding balance, and being honest. Passionate lover of a well-crafted sentence - even more so if it's witty. Weird blend of cynical optimist. I'm the worst kind of woman. I'm high maintenance, but I think I'm low maintenance. Somehow, people still love me. Must be grace.

I’m so glad to know you don’t take the same approach to mothering as you do to raising pets. It was fun to talk to you today. Any time I’m conjested, I’ll forgo the Neti & call for a laugh instead!
