Last night I was reading a biography of Mark Twain when I realized: Tom Sawyer has always been (in my mind) a kid just like Wesley. So… what literary character would the rest of my kids be? I went to sleep thinking about this, and pondered it some more today on the way home from the dentist. My verdict is…..

Judah – David Copperfield
Wesley – Tom Sawyer
Malin – Jo March (from Little Women)
Avery – Silas Marner’s daughter Eppie

About ruthie.voth

Wife of one, mother of four, friend of many. Lover of details, color, good conversations, finding balance, and being honest. Passionate lover of a well-crafted sentence - even more so if it's witty. Weird blend of cynical optimist. I'm the worst kind of woman. I'm high maintenance, but I think I'm low maintenance. Somehow, people still love me. Must be grace.

Ick, Little Women. Somehow such a charming classic, yet a book that does not seem to enhance my life in any way. This is a brilliant post. I want to associate literary characters with my neiphlings now.
