dated march 5th

So much for my great idea of blogging every day during March. It seemed like a pretty good plan…. Except that I spent the first 4 days away from home…. without my laptop. (When you’re used to a laptop keyboard, a regular one is hard to use.)

Have I ever mentioned my most miserable, complaining excuse for not being online to chat, email, write or read blogs? It’s even worse than the dial-up excuse. It’s an electric fence. Apparently it’s not grounded properly, and it causes interference with our phone line. And so it takes the patience of Job to do anything on the internet at our house. We can turn off the electric fence and the internet works just as well as dial-up possibly can around here. But then we get phone calls from our neighbors telling us that the sheep and/or donkeys and/or horse are out.

Oh, and speaking of sheep! We’re in the middle of a population explosion right now. (Not that we need it.) Sunday morning, one of the mamas had twin lambs, then Monday while we were in NC another one had twins and on Tuesday, one of the sheep had triplets! And I think Roger said that 2 more of his mama sheep are going to have babies soon. Crazy, huh? Roger is very excited about all of this new life.

And he just said last week that we need to cut down on the number of animals around here. I wonder which ones he meant….

About ruthie.voth

Wife of one, mother of four, friend of many. Lover of details, color, good conversations, finding balance, and being honest. Passionate lover of a well-crafted sentence - even more so if it's witty. Weird blend of cynical optimist. I'm the worst kind of woman. I'm high maintenance, but I think I'm low maintenance. Somehow, people still love me. Must be grace.

Maybe he means the not-so-cute furry ones that like cheese! These Voth boys are too much the same. Philip just tilled up a massive garden that takes up half of our backyard! When does he think he will have the time…or I will have the desire to do all the weeding required to maintain it?
