Anybody want to travel with the Voths on our next trip? This is what we unloaded out of our van last night:
Well… that’s most of it. Why does it look so NOT overwhelming in this little box of a photo? In real life it was easier to trip over and harder to wade through if you wanted, say…. the computer in that red bag on the bench under the window.
My success story of the day is that this mess is all put away. (Except for that sneaky box of Christmas play costumes that disguised itself as part of the luggage for this shot.)
Also, since 10 hours in the car on Monday and 10 hours yesterday weren’t enough for us, the kids and I got back in the van for a little jaunt to Hazard. We thought we were timing it right. It’s the end of the month, a beautiful sunshiny day, no more crazy Christmas shoppers out…. it should have been the perfect afternoon to hang out in the toy aisle at Wal-Mart. But, no. Since January 1st falls on a weekend, everybody got their checks early.
Lucky, lucky us. Buying groceries at Wal-Mart with all of Perry County. It was a successful trip, though. I bought enough solid colored tissue paper (at 50% off!) to last through all of our birthday giftings in the coming year.
Hey, do you know why I’m randomly blogging again? Two reasons.
1 (the most immediate) The headache of holidays is over and I can think again.
2 (the more important) I’m sitting at my dining room table with no cords attached.
And now I’m off to shutterfly to try to put together a New Year’s greeting card.
