-love. by malin b.-

Recently at school, my 10-year-old was given the assignment of answering this question:  “What is your purpose in life?” Here’s the answer she wrote out:

I was created by God to serve, love and cheer up others. To give peace, joy, thankfulness, and forgiveness to the world. To give my love, my loyalty, and my life to God. To help others on thier journy to Heaven, to help lift thier burden, to entertain them, to be thier friend, to go with them through good and bad, through hard and easy, through everything they go through. To make them feel as if they are not the only one, like they have someone to trust, someone to hold, someone to look up to. This is my purpose, my dream, my life, my way. Love; the thing that changes.

And that, in her own words, is my sweet Malin.

About ruthie.voth

Wife of one, mother of four, friend of many. Lover of details, color, good conversations, finding balance, and being honest. Passionate lover of a well-crafted sentence - even more so if it's witty. Weird blend of cynical optimist. I'm the worst kind of woman. I'm high maintenance, but I think I'm low maintenance. Somehow, people still love me. Must be grace.

Wow. Deep thoughts going on in that pretty head. She’s growing up. I love the times when I get to talk to her when I was really calling you. 🙂

love it. gonna cry. seems to me that you and Rog have passed on and lived out that song you had sung at your wedding – will you let me be your servant, let me be as Christ to you – I will weep when you are weeping, when you laugh I’ll laugh with you – We are here to help each other walk the mile and bear the load…
