re: incarnate love

If I believed in reincarnation
I’d think that
in a previous life I must have been
very, very good
to deserve you
in this life.

But I don’t.

So I’ll have to chalk it up to
pure and unmerited
that plopped you in my arms
and caused my life to come alive.

About ruthie.voth

Wife of one, mother of four, friend of many. Lover of details, color, good conversations, finding balance, and being honest. Passionate lover of a well-crafted sentence - even more so if it's witty. Weird blend of cynical optimist. I'm the worst kind of woman. I'm high maintenance, but I think I'm low maintenance. Somehow, people still love me. Must be grace.

Almost 38 years ago, that same Grace plopped a little girl, Ruth Evangeline, into my arms and she continues to fill my life with joy and happiness. Here’s wishing you an early “Happy Birthday!” I love you. – Daddy
