1 can chickpeas, drained (also known as garbanzo beans)
1/4 c. liquid from can of chickpeas
1-3 T. lemon juice (depending on taste)
2 cloves garlic, crushed (or 1/4 tsp. garlic powder)
1/2 tsp. salt
2 T. olive oil
(opt.) splash of hot chili sauce
Combine all ingredients in blender or food processor. Blend until thoroughly mixed and smooth. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, veggies… whatever. Store unused portion in the refrigerator. Or, even better, make it a day ahead to let the flavors mingle. This tastes better the second day.
